Where Beer Happens
As craft beer exploded in BC – so did we! Opening its doors in 2013, the Steamworks Burnaby Brewery and Taproom on William St is now our second home. This sprawling production facility houses all the moving parts (both human and mechanical) that work to produce thousands and thousands of barrels and hectolitres of craft beer every year.
With brewers and cellar folks, silos, and fermenters bursting and bustling out of the brew house, and a state-of-the-art canning line that whirls and twirls its way up, down, and all around, we’ve grown – but we’ve never lost sight of our roots as the small steam-powered brewery from the heart of Vancouver.

Our craft brewers are a curious lot, constantly exploring the boundaries of art, science, and technical discipline, all with the goal that every Steamworks beer tastes as good as the last. Every time.
Together with their team of skilled brewers, Head Brewer Julia Hanlon and R&D Brewer Brett Jamieson are masters at their craft, always maintaining the balance between the consistency of our core beers and the inventiveness of our seasonal offerings.
Each member of our brewing team brings a unique background to the creative process: some avid homebrewers, others experienced craft and production brewers. It’s what they have in common that makes the Steamworks dream work: commitment to quality and the drive to create.

From Tank to Taproom
There’s nothing quite like getting a pint straight from the source.
Our Burnaby Taproom is open daily for tasting beer at its freshest, directly from the tank to the tap to the glass. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are always ready to serve and delight with our signature core lineup and constant rotation of seasonal steam brewed beers (with the occasional test tap, too!). We also have keg rentals, growler fills, cold beer sales, and fun swag!
Pair your beer with food from weekly food trucks, local snacks, or even bring your own grub! We welcome you to bring your own munchies or meals, order delivery from a local restaurant right to your table, or simply sip and chill.
